What do memories of childhood and youth in Slavonia in the 1960s and 1970s mean? A return to a time when there was no war, but friendship with classmates, chocolates with nuts, football matches, checkered skirts and first loves? Yes and no. All of that was there. But this collection of stories is not a story about golden, carefree times. It is a grown woman's view of her own formation. There is a lot of love mixed with resentment, and a lot of gratitude mixed with guilt. But above all, there is maturity and a willingness, perhaps for the first time, to be honest with others and with herself.
