Osman Arifmemetov is an activist who has been covering the trumped-up trials in occupied Crimea for years. In 2019, he was illegally imprisoned on charges of terrorist activity. A number of Crimean Tatar activists were in the dock with him.
In his diary, he describes the numerous cells and falsified investigation materials, the moral and physical abuse to which the Russian “justice” subjects prisoners. Despite the absurd cruelty of the circumstances in which Osman finds himself, he retains faith, common sense and subtle irony, and his notes are full of hope and readiness for a new fight for the fate of his people.
