Athos 2643

"Athos 2643" is a science fiction novel by German writer Nils Westerboer, published in February 2022 by Klett-Cotta. The novel takes place in the year 2643 on a small moon of Neptune called Athos. The plot centers on the investigation of a mysterious murder in a monastery, where the monks and the artificial intelligence (AI) that runs the monastery become the main suspects. Inquisitor Ruud Kartgeiser, an AI interrogation specialist, travels to Athos to investigate this crime, along with his holographic assistant Zach. As the plot develops, Ruud encounters resistance from the monks and the AI's cunning manipulations, which forces him to reconsider his working methods and relationship with Zach.
