Particular attention is paid to Christie’s disappearance in 1926, which the author sees as a result of deep emotional turmoil rather than a sensational event. The research is based on letters, archival documents, and rare materials. Worsley writes chronologically, combining facts with vivid narration and analysis of Christie’s creative method. The atmosphere of the era is recreated through the details of everyday life and social customs, and the writer herself appears not as an icon, but as a living person with her own doubts and aspirations. The biography has been translated into Ukrainian for the first time.
