The novel "Andriy Lahovsky" by the outstanding Ukrainian orientalist, linguist, writer and translator, public and scientific figure Agathangel Krymsky (1871-1942) was written for almost a quarter of a century (1895-1919). The writer returned to work on the novel from time to time, making corrections to the first part - the story "They Will Not Understand" and the second - "Tuapse" as a continuation of the story "Andriy Lahovsky" (in the first version). The next two chapters "After Saint Ephraim the Syrian" and "They Got Along" are additions to the new final edition of the novel.
This book is the first posthumous publication of the novel without cuts and with the addition of two addresses by the author "To the Readers" and a letter to Lesya Ukrainka with an analysis of the first two parts of the work - a rare intellectual novel for Ukrainian literature.
