Why do you need invented horrors, when the very life around is pure horror? This can often be heard today from people who are not familiar with the genre, which has many fans all over the world and in Ukraine in particular. We cannot agree with them, if only because it was horror that prepared many of us for all aspects of real life. Stephen King's books - to human evil, which skillfully hides behind wealth; popular slashers - to correct actions in threatening situations; and the films of John Carpenter, to whom this collection is dedicated, shaped our belief that tough heroes and heroines can kick the ass of any villains, from maniacs and vampires to wizards and alien invaders.
