"Drums of Rain" is a landmark work for 20th-century literature, first published in 1970. The plot is based on a citadel, around which an armed confrontation between two armies and commanders unfolds. The war brought chaos, death, and famine. Like Ukraine today, Albania in the 15th century was the last shield of Western Europe against the Ottoman invaders. This is an example of what is worth fighting for, even if the forces are unequal and the occupier is much stronger. This struggle ended only after a long time. The Ottoman Empire disappeared from the map of the world, Albania remained. The book is structured in a very original way: long stories alternate with short, lightning-like episodes. "Drums of Rain" is a work that inspires, gives strength to hold the defense and fight until victory.
