Description

After gaining independence, Ukraine began to actively rethink its past and form a new national identity. The women's movement played an important role in this process, not only contributing to the emancipation of women, but also becoming part of the broader process of democratization of society, influencing political and social changes in the country and raising issues of gender equality, combating violence, access to education, employment, etc.

Knowledge of this history is the key to building an equal and just society, where the rights and interests of all its members are taken into account.

Tamara Martsenyuk's book combines interviews with leaders of the feminist movement of the early 1990s, namely: Marta Bohachevska-Khomiak, Oksana Kis, Tamara Melnyk, Tamara Zlobina, Larisa Kobylyanska, Ella Lamakh, Tetyana Isaeva, Natalia Karbovska, Maria Dmytrieva, Anna Dovgopol and many other activists.

The book "Fearless: The History of Ukrainian Feminism in Interviews" explores the roots of modern Ukrainian feminism. It introduces the experience of our predecessors, reveals it and passes it on to future generations. It is an expression of boundless respect and gratitude to those without whom we would not have what we have now.
