The plot of the book
The main character, Billy Buck, almost never sits still. From spring to winter, he seeks adventure and implements his amazing ideas. But once a year, like all groundhogs, he falls into hibernation.

This time, together with his faithful friend, the postman squirrel Polly, and the mysterious creature Kimod, Billy sets off on an exciting journey. They will look for Old Chief Stinky Foot, take part in cowboy competitions, and try to save a cute pink horse from Indian hedgehogs. And also – they will get into the Zhuykov Desert and learn a little mathematics. Although, I must admit, only one number... but an extremely insidious one!
