More than a theater. Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater, 2001–2012

This book is the first generalizing and comprehensive publication dedicated to the creative activity of the Ivan Franko National Theater during the period of its leadership by the outstanding Ukrainian artist Bohdan Stupka. Dozens of new performances in the repertoire, dozens of new author names on the bill, invitations of eminent masters, numerous tours, discovery of new aesthetic horizons, departure from stereotypical views on domestic classics, complex searches for balance within the creative team - all this absorbed the life of the Frankovites from 2001 to 2012 - a time that is today called the Stupka Time. The book does not have a chronological principle of presenting the material: each of the three chapters is devoted to a separate thematic and problematic direction of the theater's activity.

The author's view of the artistic achievements of the theater will be interesting to a wide range of readers, art lovers, admirers of domestic culture, as well as specialists - theater critics and art historians.
