What are you going through?

In the usual course of life, the heroine meets different people: an ex who convinces her that the end of the world is not far off, an Airbnb owner who does not know how to communicate with guests, a stranger who asks for help to entertain his elderly mother, a friend from her youth who is struggling with an incurable disease. They are all united by a common need - to tell about themselves, to find someone who will hear their stories. She perceives this chorus of voices as a passive listener, until an unusual request is made. From there, a deep story begins - a story that completely transforms the heroine herself. In 2024, director Pedro Almodóvar adapted this novel into a film. The film was called The Room Next Door, and the main roles were played by Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore. The film premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, where it won the Golden Lion.
