"Czech Stories of the 20th Century" is the result of a long-term study of the modern history of the Czech Republic, which took place in close cooperation with "Historical Truth". The collection of historical essays invites you on a journey through Czech history and acquaintances with extraordinary figures of Czech culture and politics. Stories about how independent Czechoslovakia was built and how it tried to resist military aggression by the Reich. Stories about the heroic operation "Anthropoid" and the communist coup in Czechoslovakia. Immersion in the bohemian world of Czechoslovak dissidence and the revolutionary events of 1989. In separate stories, world-class figures such as Milos Forman, Milan Kundera, and Vaclav Havel appear against the background of the Czech 20th century: people, each of whom in his own way confronted the totalitarian regime and found himself at the epicenter of cultural life. All stories are written on the basis of scientific and archival sources and illustrated with photographs from Czech archives.
