Flo is a translator living in Tokyo. Her relationships have exhausted themselves, and her work seems to be stagnant. Until one day she comes across a mysterious book left by a passenger on the Tokyo subway. From the first page, the text captivates Flo - and she feels an irresistible desire to translate the book. Does she know that this decision can change her whole life?
Ayako is a passionate lady who owns a cafe in the quiet town of Onomichi and to whom her grandson Kio comes. Ayako hardly knows him, just as Kio knows her. In the hearts of both live experiences and pain from losses, and both cannot open up to each other.
Reading and translating the book, Flo understands: she needs to go beyond the pages and find who wrote the story that impressed her so much. And the more she gets to know the characters of the novel, the more pronounced the echoes with her life become. The line between the text and life becomes thinner, and the journey to herself is just beginning.
