Polya and Elya are best friends, and Pepitka is Eli's little, cheerful dog. But a difficult test awaits all three: Elya and her mother are going abroad, and Polya's family is staying in Ukraine and sheltering Pepitka. The dog misses "her person," and Polya misses her friend.
