The novel is an alternative story about the victory of the Wehrmacht and the UPA during the Second World War, the Red Army is pushed back beyond the Urals, and Hitler and Bandera host a parade (defilade) on Red Square in Moscow.
Written in 1995-1997, first published by the Kalvariya publishing house, the novel became a laureate of the Granoslov and Suchasnost magazine awards and the winner of the Book of the Year 2000.
Last year, PEN Ukraine and The Ukrainians added it to the list of #TOP100 iconic works in the Ukrainian language.
