A house with a strong skeleton

Driving up to her cozy family home in North Carolina, Samantha Montgomery dreams of traditional evenings with her mother over a glass of wine and watching detective series. But as soon as she steps on the threshold, she realizes that nothing will be the same again. The house is unrecognizable: instead of bright colors, all the walls have been repainted in dull shades of white, instead of her mother's favorite things, there are things belonging to her grandmother, who died many years ago. Vultures are constantly lurking in the alley. Her mother is terribly nervous and jumps at the slightest rustle, but she pretends as if nothing has changed. Samantha is an archaeo-entomologist, so she is not used to digging into the truth. However, the secrets she finds in the yard under her grandmother's perfect roses are better left buried forever...
