The Children of Hurin

The work, published by the author's son, Christopher Tolkien, describes the tragic fate of Turin and Nienor, who must atone for the courage of their fathers. The curse of Morgoth weighs on them - a terrible revenge on their father for refusing to submit to the will of the Dark Lord. The sad outcome cannot be avoided even thanks to the compassion of the elves, their own courage or victory over the dragon Glaurung. However, the struggle, even hopeless, still has meaning - as a pledge of victories in future battles with evil, which J. R. R. Tolkien described in other works - "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings".
