THE AGE OF BRONZE. Ancient sculpture and plastic of Ukraine

The "BRONZE AGE" publication presents the most distinctive examples of monumental sculpture of the Northern Black Sea Region (XXII/XXX-X/IX centuries BC). In addition to rich illustrative material, high-quality photos of statuary monuments of small sculpture and plastic, the book contains scientific articles outlining the historical and cultural meaning of this or that phenomenon. These objects are a reflection of a complex of worldviews, religious ideas of their creators, the local population of that time - embodying the images of sacred and mythical characters, they testify to the beliefs and ritual practice of antiquity. The presented corpus of monuments is an important, and in some places, the only reliable source of information in matters of ethnography and anthropology. Many monuments in the book "BRONZE AGE" are being printed for the first time, and during its preparation, ancient sculptures from the main museum collections of Ukraine were cataloged.
