The devil is in the details

A murder was committed in the sports center in Bergen. The hired killer is quickly arrested, but within days he is found dead in his cell.
Local gangster Peter Ulsen is suspected of ordering the murder. Everything points to his guilt, but the lawyer Mikael Brenne is not convinced of this. There are too many details in the case that do not fit together.
One evening someone knocks on Brenne's door. This is Peter Ulsen. He escaped from prison because he was warned that he might be killed there. Mikael has no choice but to accept an unwanted guest, because he threatens to reveal something that could cost him his legal career.
As if that wasn't enough, National Criminal Investigation Service (CRIPOS) investigator Edward Matre also shows up on Brenne's doorstep. Edward has his own agenda. For him, Mikael Brenne and Peter Ulsen are just pawns in a game aimed at exposing corruption in the higher echelons of the Bergen police.
But the devil is in the details: this game will be dangerous for all its participants.
