Michael Ende (1929–1995) is a classic of German children's literature, whose works have been translated into almost 50 languages. Many people know his wonderful books "Neverending Story", "Magic Punch", "Momo", but it was the story about Jim Gudzik and the machinist Lucas that brought him world fame.
In the first book, "Jim Gudzik and Lucas the Driver", it is about how the inhabitants of a tiny Pacific received an unusual package, which contained... a little boy, later named Jim Gudzik. When Jim grew up a little, he and his best friend, the train driver Lucas, set off on a far - and, as it turns out, extremely dangerous - journey on the steam locomotive Emma, which knows how to not only drive on land... And in the second - even more interesting book - the friends go to a journey to discover the mystery of Jim's birth...
