You will come across French, German, Italian, British, Austrian, Hebrew, and Ukrainian texts. Ukrainian themes here are closely intertwined with European ones: the author not only tries to look at Ukrainian authors (Marko Vovchok, Lesia Ukrainka, Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Yurii Kosach) through general European themes but also touches on European subjects (the image of Mazepa in European literature; the works of Zaher- Mazokh), which directly affect Ukrainian soil.
