"The Philosophy of Drama" can be considered the key text of the brilliant Polish philosopher Father Józef Tischner. Published in many world languages, the book has finally been translated into Ukrainian. Discussing philosophers such as Husserl, Heidegger, Levinas, Buber, and many others, Tischner makes an original attempt to systematize key intersubjective experiences using categories borrowed from the world of theater.
Concepts such as "scene", "mask", and "drama" become central in his description of the event of a meeting that takes place between two people, as well as in an attempt to approach the mystery of evil. The author demonstrates how the meeting with the Other and the desire to find the meaning of one's life frees one from the bondage of fear and restores hope for the possibility of a new beginning in life.
