Bilbo Baggins, a comfortable and unambitious hobbit, became an unwitting participant in this risky expedition, who, to his own surprise, showed remarkable resourcefulness and skill as a burglar. Fights with trolls, goblins, dwarves, elves and giant spiders, a conversation with the dragon Smaug the Great, and a rather involuntary presence at the Battle of the Five Armies - these are just some of the adventures that Bilbo was destined to experience. But there were also lighter moments: sincere friendship, delicious treats, laughter and songs.
