Łukasz Orbitowski (born 1977) is a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University. The winner of many prestigious Polish literary awards, including the Jerzy Żuławski Literary Prize, the Janusz Seidel Prize, the Stefan Grabinski Polish Literary Prize, and the SFinks Prize, Łukasz Orbitowski reflects modern trends in the literary field of many genres - from horror and mysticism through social drama and hard realism to magical realism and elements of deep psychologism. Starting his creative career in the genres of mysticism, fantasy and horror, over time Orbitowski increasingly looks towards realism and social drama, which, however, does not prevent him from continuing to be the author of incredibly bizarre and mysterious texts, in which the usual everyday reality is inseparable from the reality of another, alien and unfamiliar to us, a reality that is always somewhere here, nearby, but, unfortunately or fortunately, not everyone has the optics to observe it. Lukasz Orbitowski, for example, is not only able to see it, but also has a real talent as a storyteller, whose words you immediately believe, regardless of the strangeness of the story he tells.
Lukasz Orbitowski is the best confirmation of the latest trends of the increasingly confident entry of fantasy literature into general literature, since today this writer is considered one of the most powerful representatives of modern Polish literature. Lukasz Orbitowski is often said to be the Polish Stephen King, and the writer himself jokingly calls himself the "Luke Skywalker of Polish literature."
This book is a kind of cross-section of Orbitowski's work, as all twelve stories presented in it are presented in chronological order of their creation and are important points on the map of his creative biography.
