I wanted to go home

Zygmund breaks out of his hometown, lost in the Poltava pampas — either in search of himself, or simply as far away as possible from the hated gooseberry. Behind the scenes of a large Kyiv library, he meets and makes friends with a former football player, a Tottenham fan, and a fragile art critic who likes to wander around the industrial zone of Rybalsky Island. Next, the hero will have an unexpected flight to the Balkans in the hope of meeting a girl he knows only from e-mail correspondence. Zygmund's existence seems to continue in two dimensions: a colorful map of meeting places is gradually filled, to which he reacts with sardonic humor, while the search for traces of Hryhoriy Skovoroda continues. When a full-scale war begins, this search turns from a work assignment into a point of support. The two worlds slowly intertwine, and the heroes seem to finally realize that home is for them.
