“By the name of the city” is a project of the Kharkiv Literary Museum, which combines visual art, architecture, literature, cinema, and more. This publication is one of its parts.
In Konstantin Zorkin’s painting, the front-line city of Kharkiv becomes a ship stranded near enemy shores. His team consists of metaphorical characters who embody different aspects of the city’s identity. Behind each of them stands a specific person, an artist who participated in the creation of the project. All of them share their superpower with the hero of the story.
This painting is the experience of living through war together.
