The collection includes selected works of the classic of Crimean Tatar literature, educator, influential social and cultural figure Ismail Gasprinsky: fragments from the novel "Molla Abbas" ("French Letters" and "African Letters"), which were published in the columns of the newspaper "Terdzhiman" founded by him in 1883 ", as well as stories of historical themes: "The Lioness Girl" (the work is included in the school curriculum on Ukrainian literature), "And the Day was Born", "Two Heroes", "Planned Migration", "Woe of the East", "Assembly of Rulers", "Prince Azamat Bek", "Observation of Haji", "Two Imams".
These works will help the Ukrainian reader to form an idea not only about the Author's literary talent, but also about the topics that worried the Crimean Tatar intelligentsia at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries.
The book also contains the introductory article "Ismail Gasprynskyi: an educator and writer at the turn of the century" by Tetyana Bykova, a senior researcher at the Institute of the History of Ukraine, and a dictionary of Crimean Tatar and Turkish words used in the book
