A book about Nil Khasevych — an artist, graphic artist, chief designer of the UPA. This is an attempt to unfold the story of the hero's life through his work, social connections, friends and artistic associations, the context in which Ukraine and the world lived at that time.
The book is structured as an adventure film saga, in which the author Marcela Mozhyna recreates the artist's life episode by episode. Nil Khasevych is still a little-known figure to the general public. However, it is worth the whole world learning about him.
He lived in historical times similar to ours, created graphics in the underground. Both metaphorically (under the pseudonyms Bey-Zot, Levko, Rybalka), and literally (in underground hiding places).
The book features previously unpublished works and photographs, as well as essays that will immerse you in the Ukrainian and global context of the mid-20th century: political struggle, artistic associations, emigration.
This is the second edition of the “History of Ukrainian Artists” series, which Projector Publishing is creating in collaboration with the Projector Foundation and the ZMIN Foundation.
