Description

At the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, a new era in the history of philosophy began - an era of renewal, in which the belief was formed that the world order is not immutable and that man must change it. Humanism was not a sharp transition from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, not a new paradigm, but rather a new concept of the relationship between man, God and the world, in which man became an active center, an actor and the measure of all things. The 17th century - a period of disorder and instability, anxiety and disorientation, scientific exploration and great utopias - led to the flowering of European culture. And already in the 18th century, the light of reason and critical thinking penetrates every level of scientific research.

Our publication offers readers to take an interesting and unusual journey through the history of philosophical thought from humanism to Kant. In it, worldview ideas are combined with the phenomena of material culture, forms of reasoning with the life of society, philosophy with history, art and science.

The thinkers who will accompany readers on this path are pillars of philosophical thought: from Marsilio Ficino and Pico della Mirandola to Giordano Bruno and Francis Bacon, from René Descartes and John Locke to Baruch Spinoza and Gottfried Leibniz, from David Hume to Immanuel Kant.
