The Renaissance gave the world many talented people. Their names are forever inscribed in the "golden book" of this era. Among them is the outstanding English playwright, actor and poet William Shakespeare (1564–1616). The author of at least 17 comedies, 10 chronicles, 11 tragedies, five poems and a cycle of 154 sonnets. His works have been translated into many languages of the world, they are often staged. Of the thirty-seven plays written by William Shakespeare, ten are devoted to events in the history of his state. He began his writing career with historical stories. The chronicles of the history of England "Richard II" and "Henry IV" refer to the period of struggle between feudal barons and the absolute monarchy, "Richard III" - to the times of the War of the Red and White Roses. The "Folio" publishing house also published other works of V. Shakespeare: "Comedies and Tragicomedies", "Tragedies".
