The historical novel of the modern Turkish writer of Crimean Tatar origin, Serra Menekai, is a story full of sadness, tragedy and hope of the Crimean Tatar people, told by two women who, after the Second World War, found themselves on both sides of the Iron Curtain: one in Europe, the other in deportation.
The author tells about the experience of personal growth, which takes place against the background of the dramatic events of the 20th century, depicting moments of happiness and years of suffering for each heroine. Despite all the wanderings, they kept the memory of the Motherland, the traditions of their people, and faith in returning to their native land - Crimea.
