Oleksandr Irvanets' new stories unfold on the Volyn landscape and Volyn legends, but, as befits the works of Pidskarbiy "Bubabu", in whimsical combinations and accompanied by heart-breaking adventures. Living and dead characters — Ukrainians, Germans, Poles, French, Russians — take part in the story that gave the book its title.

Of course, if it weren't for the time loop, the heroes and anti-heroes would never have crossed paths, but it turns out that time knows how to twist into amazing spirals. The tale of vicissitudes and bizarre anecdotes is complemented by a melodrama about the VKL — Volyn cats-legends, as well as short sketches created in that burlesque tone, which, despite its phantasmagoricness, reflects life itself as best as possible.
