Canada is a boring and rich country with people who speak two languages perfectly. The roads here are perfect, and there is no corruption. Herds of bison run across the snowy prairies, and somewhere between the skyscrapers of Toronto and Montreal, bearded Canadians play hockey.
This is certainly true when it comes to hockey and the Bison. The rest, I would say, is a bit of an exaggeration.
Canada is bright and original. Every province is different, every region is special. An immigrant in Toronto and an immigrant in Quebec will see two different countries. A person from Vancouver will tell a very different story than a person from Newfoundland. And they will do it, most likely, in completely different languages.
Evgeny Lakinsky introduces us to this Canada in all its diversity in his book.
Yevhen Lakinskyi has been working in the civil service in Ottawa for the past 13 years.
Eugene has lived in Canada for over 20 years. Visited all 10 provinces, speaks two official languages of the country every day.
