A classic of Ukrainian literature, Taras Shevchenko's poem "Kateryna" is a story of desperate love and the tragedy of cover-up, a poetic reflection on the patriarchal system and Ukrainian-Russian relations.
The poem was illustrated by Mykola Tolmachev, a Ukrainian artist born in Brovary in 1993. He studied in France at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, and his portfolio includes participation in Art Paris and personal exhibitions in Brussels, Paris, and Kyiv.
