The events of the play "Bread Truce" take place in the summer of 2014. The story of one death gradually turns into the story of an entire generation, into the story of relations between children and parents, into a story of betrayal and mistrust, full of comic words and tragic meanings, which Serhiy Zhadan knows how to combine so perfectly.

The war continues, and no armistice can heal the wounds inflicted: they will continue to ache, forever changing the lives of people who never intended to fight.
