This formally postmodern "novel-type text" initiated the genre of "alternative history" in modern Ukrainian literature.
At first glance, the alternative proposed by Kozhelyanko is hazardous. Instead of the real Ukraine, crushed by the millstones of two totalitarian regimes, which - despite this - is forced to this day to listen to accusations of cooperation with both, we see in "Parade" a strong Bandera state, which, together with Hitler's Germany and the rest of the countries of the anti-Comintern coalition, destroys the Stalinist USSR and arranges 7 November 1941, the parade of winners on Red Square.
