This small collection of photographs from the funds of the Bakhchysarai Historical and Cultural Reserve is truly unique.
Most of the photographs contained in this edition were taken in the mid and late 1920s by the prominent Crimean Tatar cultural figure Usein Bodaninskyi (1877-1938), a man with a famous and the same time tragic fate. At the crossroads of eras, in the vortex of two revolutions, he managed to defend and implement the idea of creating a museum in the Khan's Palace in Bakhchysarai.
The book sheds light on the interesting history of the Ukrainian ethnos, tells about outstanding scientists, politicians, and cultural and artistic figures, and reveals the historical mission of Ukrainianism, revealing the complex dialectics of its development.
Designed for a wide range of readers.
Publication language: Ukrainian, English, Crimean Tatar.
