Description

Mustafa Husar is a former soldier and aspiring poet. As a result of what he experienced and saw during the war years, he now, in peacetime, has bipolar disorder, and as soon as he manages to put the shattered fragments of his life back together, everything falls apart again: into memories of a country that no longer exists, of war and death. He seeks salvation and a way out of the tangled labyrinth of his mind in writing. So he returns to the banks of his childhood, to the banks of the Una River in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to his grandmother's house. And so he - year after year, fish after fish, drop after drop - lives, rewinds his life anew, from the beginning to the present.

For this book, the author received the Meša Selimović Prize in 2011 and the European Union Prize for Literature in 2013.
