Mario Benedetti (1920–2009) is one of the most famous Uruguayan writers of the 20th century, the author of over 80 books, including poetry, prose, essays, and plays. His works have been translated into dozens of languages, and his poetry is always about people: fragile and strong.
This collection is a sincere and tender confession of love in all its forms: infatuation and intimacy, memory and loss, passion and care.
The Ukrainian edition of “Love, Women and Life” is special. It is the result of a translation competition held in 2016. The collection contains the voices of many translators, whose translations were reviewed and edited by the editor of the publication, translator Olga Zdir.
