In the novel, the destinies of three completely different people are intertwined: a woman who is fond of free wrestling; a writer who speaks many languages; and an Italian woman from a noble family who is on the verge of bankruptcy.
Ellinor lives in a small village in southern Sweden. One day she registers on a dating site: I am 36 years old and I am looking for a gentle (but not too much) man. This short phrase will tear her out of her usual life in Stockholm, into the cold but alluring world of publishing houses, writers and books. Max Lamas dreams of a lover who speaks all his languages and understands everything he writes about. His search for the perfect woman takes him from Stockholm to Italy, where he meets a marquise whose life is about to turn into ruins. All this happens before the eyes of Lucrezia, the granddaughter of the marquise, who dreams of only one thing: to save her usual life from collapse, because her family did not prepare her for anything else.
But despite such different destinies and life trajectories, all these people have a lot in common. Before us are lovers on the verge of breakdown, they are driven by the thirst for love, passion, seduction and readiness to pursue their desires to the end, and most importantly, they are united by the dream that someone will understand you someday.
