Yakutovych Circle

This book presents five iconic figures of Ukrainian culture from the author’s personal paterik. These are her parents, outstanding sculptors Olga Markish and Mykola Rapai. This is her grandmother Zinaida Ioffe, who was involved in the development of Ukrainian philology. This is the Yakutovych dynasty of artists, which became her family. This is Hryhoriy Havrylenko and Serhiy Paradzhanov, great artists with whom the author’s childhood and youth are connected. In her memoirs, Kateryna Rapai aptly conveys the worlds of the figures around her, inviting readers to immerse themselves in them as well.
