Warsaw 1937. Anti-Semitic voices are growing louder, but Jews can still have it all. At least one of them is Jakub Shapiro. A boxer, a favorite of women, a lover of fancy clothes, expensive cars and weapons. He works for Kuma Kaplitz and solves all cases that require his superhuman strength. Who will dare to oppose Jakub? Who will dare to oppose Kaplitz?
Israeli General Moshe Inbar, who back then, in 1937, was “Shapiro’s boy”, his shadow, is now, 50 years later, writing in Tel Aviv the history of pre-war Warsaw. It was a world of armed clashes, brothels, drug-fueled courage and ruined destinies. And somewhere there was already a premonition of an approaching tragedy.
