Charles Landry (born 1948) is a British urbanist, the creator of the concept of a creative city. He participated in the development of development strategies for such gems as Bilbao, Dublin, Amsterdam, Leipzig - in total, 450 projects in 35 countries around the world. He is the author of a number of books dedicated to urban development, and the number of lectures in which the specialist popularizes his ideas, including in Ukraine, is incalculable. When communicating with the audience, Charles likes to repeat: “Creative cities are cities created by residents who think, plan and act with the help of imagination.” But is everything so simple and obvious in practice? And what is an indicator of creativity? How to measure it? By the number of innovations that have been implemented, or by the number of creative people? By the number of organizations, processes, programs or the number of creative activities? In his books, the author does not leave without a comprehensive answer any question that interests interested citizens.
