This book could well be called "Life and incredible adventures of Cyril" and, to a lesser extent, "his older brother Methodius". Even the official and canonical lives of these dignitaries resemble collections of witty stories rather than glossy portraits.
In this book, the author casts an ironic eye on the life and work of Cyril and Methodius (laughter is not a sin, even when it comes to saints and equal apostles). And although writing was about to appear in the everyday life of Slavs, it was the brothers who radically influenced how and when it was introduced.
This is a light-hearted story about very serious things: the rivalry between Rome and Constantinople, international politics and the struggle for spheres of influence, ecclesiastical intrigues and secret operations that affected the history of a large part of Europe.
