A fake relationship between two scientists meets the irresistible force of attraction.
Olive Smith is a third-year PhD student who doesn't believe in long-term romantic relationships, but her best friend, Ahn, does, and that's why Olive has gotten herself into a monumental mess. Ahn likes Olive's ex-boyfriend, but he'd never make the first move because she's a good friend. It won't be easy for Olive to convince her that she's moved on, since scientists need proof. So, like any woman with a modicum of self-respect, she panics and kisses the first man she meets so Ahn will see her.
That man is none other than Adam Carlsen, a young professor as renowned for the quality of his work as for his stupidity. So Olive is stunned when Carlsen agrees to keep her charade a secret and be her fake boyfriend. However, after a major scientific conference turns into a disaster and Adam surprises her again with his unwavering support (and his unwavering abs), their little experiment gets dangerously close to the burning point. Olive soon discovers that the only thing more complicated than a hypothesis about love is analyzing her own heart under a microscope.
