Lancelot, or the Knight of the Cart

Lancelot, or The Knight of the Cart is a famous 12th-century chivalric novel about one of the main characters of the legends of King Arthur. The plot of this masterpiece of old European literature is well-known to everyone: the knight Lancelot is in love with Queen Guenevere, who is the wife of King Arthur. This feeling, expressed in the courtly service to the Lady, determines Lancelot's behavior: for the sake of Guenevere, he performs incredible feats and, getting into the most dangerous situations, turns out to be the winner, because love gives him strength.

The novel "Lancelot, or The Knight of the Cart" belongs to the pen of the outstanding medieval writer - Chrétien de Troyes. The work was first translated from Old French into Ukrainian, and also re-edited, as it was in the original, by the famous translator Petro Taraszchuk.
