The Ukrainian reader is offered a trilogy by the Swedish writer, Nobel Prize laureate Selma Lagerlöf (1858–1940) – “The Levenskiold Ring”, “Charlotte Levenskiold” and “Anna Sverd”.
The core of this panoramic work is the amazing and mysterious story of the ring that belonged to General Levenskiold. The fates of members of the noble Levenskiold family and those who temporarily owned it are bizarrely connected with this jewel. The red thread running through all parts of the trilogy is the idea of inevitable punishment for the evil committed, the victory of good over evil and the triumph of love.
The trilogy covers the period from the first half of the 18th century to the early 1960s. The story is marked by sharp plot twists and reliability in describing the realities of Sweden at that time.
