Legendarium of Peculiar Cities

"Legendarium of Peculiar Cities" is a collection of retellings in the style of urban fantasy by eight famous Ukrainian authors. These are fairy tales, transformed in such a way as to show readers contemporary Ukrainian cities.

Each of the stories speaks to our memories on behalf of old friends who have known fairy-tale characters since childhood. However, there is no simple and unimaginative division into good and evil inherent in fairy tales. Everything is confusing, complicated, and terribly interesting: Yaga gets a higher education, Gerda lights up at parties, tasting Aperol, Telesyk, and Olenka the Snake are diligently researching magic, the ancient Snake marries Mavka, Bluebeard bakes cupcakes...

And all this is happening in Ukrainian cities from Donetsk to Lviv, from Nikopol to Lutsk. And the cities themselves play an important role in the story. The present is intertwined with the past, the past flows into the future, and the heroes and heroines of legends lead a secret life, hidden from the eyes of those who are not supposed to know...
