Odysseus, a warrior and traveler, returns to Ithaca after twenty years of wandering. But he finds neither his wife Penelope nor his son Telemachus at home. He realizes that he has taken the wrong path and now he must correct his mistakes. Odysseus will make his journey in the opposite direction, from Ithaca to Troy. He will meet the Sirens again, visit the land of Nausicaa again, be on the islands of Calypso and Circe again, and descend into the kingdom of Hades again. Step by step, he will better understand the main forces that guide his life: love, death, guilt, beauty, and loss.
