Description

Katya Petrovskaya's book "Probably Esther" raises the still-silent problem of the Holocaust, which was committed by German Nazism on Ukrainian lands, in particular in one of the Kyiv tracts, infamously known as Babyn Yar. Not only the Jews of Kyiv and the surrounding areas were shot there, but also many Ukrainian patriots, among them the famous poet Olena Teliga. Talented works by Russian authors were written about this at one time - a landmark poem by Yevgeny Yevtushenko and a novel by Anatoly Kuznetsov. And now a book by a native of Kyiv, Katya Petrovskaya, has appeared in Germany, which tells about those distant tragic events through the prism of family chronicles. The book received great resonance in the world and has already been translated into 18 languages. The publishing house "Books - XXI" offers a Ukrainian translation of the book. It was translated by the famous Ukrainian translator Yurko Prokhasko, and the afterword was written by the project editor Petro Rykhlo.
